PTA Mixer to be Held on 8.28.18

The Regency Park PTA will hold a mixer for all Regency Park families on Tuesday, August 28 at 6 p.m. at the Kindergarten playground area. Come join us as we introduce the new 2018-19 Board, discuss events and fundraisers and promote our membership drive.

The PTA supports the school by hosting free or low-cost events throughout the school year including movie nights, family fun nights, and Trunk-or-Treat as well as fundraisers to support the school and students. Last year, we funded over $2,000 in grants; supported field trips for nearly every grade and contributed to the Veteran’s Day event and Fifth Grade promotion.

The PTA is offering complimentary pizza and water/ juice for the attendees. We look forward to seeing you there!

Come and make a difference for our school community.

Regency Park Enjoyed the NED Show!

the-ned-show-ba4Our students were treated to a fantastic school-wide assembly called The NED Show on September 25th . NED is a loveable cartoon character whose name is an acronym for Never give up, Encourage others, and Do your best. This program was at our school at NO COST through their Pay It Forward program. Through this program we will have NED-messaged items available for purchase for the rest of the week including yo-yos and accessories . These items will be fun reminders of the messages learned from NED.

Support our School- Become a Member Today!

We are dedicated to the educational success, health, and well-being of our students through strong family and community engagement. The PTA is comprised of caring adults- not limited to just parents or teachers- who share a commitment to the future of our students. Membership for the 2017-18 school year is just $10! While it does not commit you to volunteering, we sure appreciate any time you can spend with us helping our school!

Become a Parent Room Representative!

The Regency Park PTA has added new Board Roles this year to help foster positive communication and support onto the campus. These Room Representatives are individuals who will act as a ‘voice’ and liaison between the teacher(s), students and the PTA board. Our teachers are so important to the success of the PTA as trusted advisors for the students and their guardians. We also want to be a resource for the teachers to help them with projects in their classrooms!

In this role, the Representatives (RC’s) will:

  • Works with teacher(s) and parents/guardians, as a parent contact and liaison, to build stronger family/ school partnerships for a classroom or grade leve
  • Encourages easy, two-way communication between teachers and parents on what’s happening in the classroom to support student success
  • Work through the Room Representative Coordinator help teacher(s) to identify how parents can assist with classroom activities
  • Talk with other parents on campus to help in identifying parent volunteers for projects and events
  • Helps to promote PTA goals, membership and activities on campus

Our Room Representative Coordinator, Mrs. Rowe, will help  Room Coordinators initially connect with teachers to establish the relationship and goals for the upcoming year.
Room Representatives should be social butterflies who are on campus several times a month, and will help us “Connect the Dots!” We will help RC’s with their communication and messages to the parents- you won’t have to recreate any wheels! You’ll serve as an important ‘vehicle’ to keep Regency Park families in the loop on upcoming class or grade level activities and to grow family-school partnerships for student success.

Send us an email if you want to act as an RC for the 2017-18 school year- we’d love to have you as part of the PTA T.E.A.M!

Thank You for a Successful Jog-a-Thon!

Friday, October 6th was a perfect day for our annual Jog-a-Thon! The all-school event was held on the black-top area and each class had a 20-minute session to complete their laps. Participants enjoyed running to upbeat music from the DJ, cheers from family and staff and completed their run with complimentary water and fans and frozen treats.

Students have done an incredible job collecting pledges to meet the HUGE $10,000 goal that the PTA set, and we’re so excited to say that the final amount raised is……………                                                                                $ 9,203.78!!

That’s more than double last year, and the best Jog-a-Thon fundraiser to date for Regency Park. All of the students that collected pledges received fun prize packs and each student that raised over $200 were entered into a prize raffle from our great community partners. This year, seven hard working students raised over $200, and a huge shout-out goes to our top two fundraisers: Christopher F. ($345) and Zoey S. ($740)!                          Mrs. Gatewood’s Kindergarten class was the top fundraising class with a grand total of $870- the PTA will be treating them to a classroom Pizza Party! Mrs. Godwin’s class won the best poster.
